NMRTA is resuming work days! There is plenty to do such that we can work spaced out along the trail to maintain social distancing. If you are sick or feel that you may have been exposed to covid19, please do not attend.
Our June Work Day is Saturday, June 20, from 9am to noon near the Mexican Canyon Trestle.
What We Will Be Doing: We will be moving rocks, raking, and removing brush on the Mexican Canyon Trestle Trail from the overlook back to Bonnie’s Cabin.
The shortcut trail and Bonnie’s Trestle will also be open for viewing and hiking during this time.
What to Bring: Water, gloves and sunscreen.
Where to Meet: Meet at the Village Spur Trailhead parking lot at the corner of Hwy 82 and Hwy 130.
Directions to the Village Trail Spur Head from Alamogordo:
- Drive East on US 82 from Alamogordo for 16 miles
- Just before NM Hwy 130, park in the area on the right
