What We Will Be Doing: We will be working on the Switchback Trail to Calico Peak trail extension.*

What to Bring: Water, gloves and sunscreen. We will provide the tools.

Where to Meet: Volunteers should meet at the Switchback Trailhead in Bailey Canyon.

Directions to the Switchback Trailhead from Alamogordo:

• Take US Hwy 82 from Alamogordo toward Cloudcroft.
• Turn left onto Bailey Canyon Rd just past mile marker 14.
• Cross the cattle guard and park.

*Hikers wanted now to help with trailblazing! Lynn Melton is marking the Switchback-to-Calico Peak trail extension, and is seeking hiking companions, starting now, through the Fall. The first step is to follow the approved 6-7 mile GPX track and mark the trail route with trail signs. The schedule is very flexible.
