Work Day – December 12/18/2021

We are having a work day Saturday, Dec 18, from 9AM-Noon, weather permitting. The forecast is partly sunny with a high of 29° and a 30% chance of snow.

What We Will Be Doing: We will begin construction on the new Grandview Loop. We will be doing brushing only along the 1/2 mile section of the approved new trail. Closing the loop on this classic trail will preclude backtracking or hiking Fresnel Canyon Road to return to the trailhead.

Where to Meet: Volunteers should meet at the Lower Grandview Trailhead

Directions to the Lower Grandview Trailhead from Hwy 82 in High Rolls:

  • Turn north at High Rolls General Store on Cherry Blossom for .3 miles
  • Turn left at the stop sign onto Cottage Row for .45 miles
  • Turn right onto Fresnel Canyon Road and travel 1 mile to the Trailhead

Work Day – October 10/16/2021

We are having a work day Saturday, November 20, from 9 am to noon!

What We Will Be Doing: We’ll be installing trail signage and property boundary signs to direct hikers to the public trails and away from private property. Around 10:30, we’ll deploy a team to install the winter security barriers at Bonnie’s Cabin. We will also be doing some basic trail clean-up and brushing.

Directions to the Bridal Veil Falls Trailhead from Hwy 82 in High Rolls:

  • Turn north at the High Rolls General Store onto Cherry Blossom Ln for .3 miles
  • Turn left at the stop sign onto Cottage Row for .45 miles
  • Turn right onto Fresnel Canyon Road and travel 1.4 miles to the Shortcut Trailhead
  • New Bridal Veil Falls Trailhead is located on a curve to the west (on the right)
