For example, a future Work Day on the Salado Canyon Bridge will require 6-8 volunteers. We’ll need to know if we have enough before staging materials the day before.

What We Will Be Doing: We will do some trail work at the junction of the Devil’s Elbow and Old Cloudcroft Highway Trails.

Where to Meet: Meet at 9AM at the Village Spur Trailhead at US Hwy 82 at Hwy 130 (see map below)

What to Bring: Water, gloves and sunscreen.

Come to the NMRTA Annual Meeting, a Board Meeting That’s Anything but Boring.
Saturday, August 24, 2024 • 1PM to 3PM • The Lodge Pavilion
It’s our 30th Anniversary, so we are looking back, and looking forward to the next 30 Years.
Our featured presenters are Past-President Grady Nicholson and local historian Lynn Melton.
They will share their remembrances and adventures in the early days of NMRTA.
And what would a contemporary presentation be without Artificial Intelligence?
We’ll use it to look into the future, with financial projections, and an AI illustration of a pedestrian bridge across US 82 from the Village to the trailheads, among other things.
Very different things.

What We Will Be Doing:  We will be working in the Village Spur area. There is an erosion area going uphill towards to the Village Spur Trail and historic signs that we will shore up with railroad ties and rock. In addition, we will relocate a bench to the Village Spur area and spruce up the area in and around the signs.  

What to Bring: Water, gloves, and sunscreen. We will provide the tools.
