February Workday

WHAT: NMRTA February workday. We will be completely replacing a culvert that crosses the rail bed on the Grand View (GV) Trail using wood that is sized to duplicate the wood used in the original culvert…and we will be using nails for the assembly. We also will be oiling the crossing stile at the gate to the GV trail, lower trailhead.   Be sure to bring your own drinking water, sun protection, work gloves and sturdy boots. All tools will be provided. We plan to work until Noon.

 WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, February 23,  2013. Meet at 8 am at the GV Trail, lower trailhead, if you can make.  If more convenient, come at the usual 9 am start time.  Work until noon. Long term prediction is that Saturday is supposed to be a pleasant weather day.

 Note: This is a pretty big job, hence the 8 am start time…to increase our chances of getting done by noon.

DIRECTIONS TO GRAND VIEW TRAIL…LOWER TRAILHEAD.  From Hwy 82 in High Rolls, turn N at the High Rolls General Store onto Cherry Blossom Lane for 0.3 mi then W(left) at the stop sign onto Cottage Row. Drive 0.45 mi and turn N (R)onto Fresnal Canyon Road and travel .9 miles…the lower trailhead is on the left.
