Volunteer Work Day – July 23rd!

What we’ll be doing

This month we’re enjoying Cloudcroft again! Most of our work will concentrate on continuation of the retaining wall construction below the cabin on the Bonnie Brooks property – hard work, but the end is in sight. We will also have some lighter work that needs to be done so there will be something for everybody.

Again, we will have shirts and caps with the NEW NM Rails-to-Trails Association logo on sale when we gather up!

Again, we’ll be walking down to the worksite from the parking area, detailed below.

When & Where for the Work day

Saturday, July 23rd, 2016. We’ll meet at 9am and we’ll work until noon.

Driving Directions

Head on up to Cloudcroft as you normally would. We’ll be parking and meeting at the Village Spur Trailhead parking area where Highway 130 intersects with Highway 82. It’s easy to spot there on your right just as you enter Cloudcroft if coming in from High Rolls or Alamogordo.

Volunteer Work Day – May 21st!

What we’ll be doing

This month we’re enjoying Cloudcroft again to continue work building the railroad tie retaining wall below the cabin on the Brooks Property. This is hard going and we need several strong folks to trade-off the heavier work.

PLUS, we will be doing some minor trail clean-up, and we will continue work on Bonnie’s Bridge – re-treating the wood, reseating some of the bridge railings, and putting caps on the vertical members to prevent deterioration. This is MUCH less strenuous work than the retaining wall but still necessary, so feel free to come just to work on this.

Again, we will have shirts and caps with the NEW NM Rails-to-Trails Association logo on sale when we gather up!

Again, we’ll be walking down to the worksite from the parking area, detailed below.
